Open Your Heart to Live Superconsciosly

Awaken Divine Love and Live from the Higher Self

Open Your Heart to Live Superconsciously Awaken Divine Love and Live from the Higher Self

The journey toward superconscious living begins not with the intellect, but with the heart. The first true step on the spiritual path is healing and opening of the heart. As Sri Yukteshwar, the Guru of Paramhansa Yogananda, reminds us, “We cannot take even one step forward on the spiritual path until we awaken the natural love of the heart.”

This love is not the sentimental emotion that depends on another person, nor the attachment that fluctuates with circumstances. It is the pure, unconditional, divine love that flows freely from the soul. In its natural state, the heart simply desires to love — to give, to bless, to embrace all beings. When open, it radiates peace and joy, extending its warmth to every part of creation.

To live superconsciously is to live from this awakened heart. When divine love flows through us, our thoughts and actions naturally align with higher wisdom. We respond to life, not from fear or ego, but from compassion, understanding, and unity with all.

The Eight Obstacles of the Heart

Sri Yukteshwar identified eight major obstacles that block the heart’s divine flow: Hatred, Shame, Fear, Grief, Condemnation, Racial Prejudice, Pride of Pedigree, and a Narrow Sense of Respectability.

Each of these represents a form of contraction—a closing of the heart’s energy. When we harbor resentment, judge others, or cling to pride, our energy withdraws inward, cutting us off from the infinite source of love within. These limitations cloud our perception, keeping us trapped in the restless vibrations of the ego.

The spiritual path calls us to transcend these obstacles through conscious awareness, prayer, and devotion. As we release judgment, fear, and narrowness, the heart gradually regains its natural purity. It becomes like a clear lake, reflecting divine joy and compassion in every direction.

Simple Ways to Awaken the Heart

There are many gentle ways to help the heart reopen to divine love. Chanting is one of the most powerful. When we chant sacred names of God or sing uplifting songs, the vibrations of devotion awaken higher energy centers within us, especially the heart chakra (anahata). Listening to or singing spiritual music can dissolve emotional blockages and bring deep peace.

Selfless service (Seva) is another key to open the heart. When we serve others without expectation, our love expands. Service purifies the ego, reminding us that we are not separate from those we help — we are expressions of the same divine energy.

Communing with nature also uplifts the heart. Spend time among trees, flowers, rivers, and mountains. Nature carries the vibration of harmony and unconditional giving. The rustling of leaves, the scent of blossoms, the song of birds — all these soften the heart and awaken gratitude.

Most importantly, practice the presence of God in all that you do. Whether you are cooking, working, walking, or talking, silently remember that the Divine is acting through you. When you make every activity an offering to God, your heart becomes a temple of stillness and joy.

Tools for Emotional Healing and Heart Opening

Sometimes, emotional wounds or subconscious memories prevent the heart from opening fully. In such cases, nature offers us gentle remedies. Flower essences—like the essences made from rose, lotus, or holly—can work on the subtle energy body to release emotional pain, resentment, or grief.

Vibrational healing through meditation, prayer, and mantra can also be deeply transformative. As the heart energy expands, layers of ignorance and emotional heaviness begin to dissolve. In their place arises an experience of profound lightness and connection — a realization that the world around us is, in truth, a reflection of divine love.

The most effective tools which create lasting change are Hong Sau Meditation method and Kriya Yoga as taught by Paramhansa Yogananda.

Living from an Open Heart

When the heart is open, life itself transforms. We see beauty in everyone, meaning in every challenge, and love even in moments of pain. The more we live from the heart, the more we align with our superconscious self — the higher awareness that perceives unity in diversity.

An open heart bridges the gap between the human and the divine. It becomes the channel through which peace, joy, and compassion flow naturally into our relationships, work, and service. Through this open-hearted living, we begin to experience the true essence of Yoga — union with the Divine.

May your heart open like a flower to the sunlight of divine love. In that radiance, you will discover the secret of living superconsciously — not merely existing, but loving, serving, and being in tune with God in every breath.
