On Completion of Book One — A Reflection
This reflection moves through several layers of experience, just as the writing of the book itself did.
As I sit here in this moment of time and space, my first book, A Beginner’s Guide to Prana or Lifeforce Mastery, is complete. I am at the final stage, doing one last thorough review before uploading the manuscript. The release date is set for 4th March 2026. On that day, the Kindle, paperback, and hardcover editions will all be released together.
At this point, I find myself reflecting on how this book came into being.
The Book That Arrived Unexpectedly
It happened quite suddenly, without any real preamble. For a long time, there was only a vague thought in the background. One day, perhaps, I might write a book on this subject. I had no clear idea of what form it would take or what approach I would use. There was no structured plan, only a distant possibility.
Right now, I feel no sense of ownership over this book. It does not feel like it belongs to me. It feels as though it belongs to divine forces and to each of its readers. It feels like a soul that took birth through me, yet belongs to the world. This is a soul that will grow differently in the hands of each unique reader.
It is within the consciousness of the reader that this soul will be nurtured. There it will grow and give each reader exactly what he needs at that moment of his journey. As the reader grows, the soul of this book grows. In that sense, this book is a baby that will be born on 4th March 2026. From that moment, it will move outward into the lives of its readers, where it will grow within them, slowly aligning their consciousness with the divine. In this shared, divine growth, the reader’s consciousness begins to expand and flower into a deeper spiritual awakening.
What Is Already Emerging Next
My next book has already begun to make its presence known to me. It is speaking, revealing what it wants to become. Its soul is ready to be conceptualized and nurtured into a new beginning. It, too, wishes to journey with its readers. This next work seeks to guide divinely awakened readers into a phase of spiritual maturity, into the adulthood of the soul.
As a writer of these books, I know there is still more to come. There will be works that take the reader from spiritual maturity toward the realization and actualization of the divinity that already exists within him. Toward becoming fully established in his divine nature.
A Note on Language and the Soul
My native language, Bengali, is gender neutral. However, I am writing in English and following the practice of my guide, Swami Kriyananda, and our Guru, Paramhansa Yogananda, in using “he” as a universal, gender-neutral reference, as is customary in English. We are speaking of the soul here. Gender has no relevance.
Spiritual & Emotional Maturity and the Aim of These Books
Excessive sensitivity is a sign of a lack of emotional maturity. As Paramhansa Yogananda stated, it reflects weakness of the nervous system. This has now become a widespread issue. People are overstimulated, overreactive, and easily triggered. This points to something deeply imbalanced within our society.
Through these books, I hope to guide readers gradually toward a stable, emotionally and spiritually mature way of living. A way where emotions can be held without suppression, understood clearly, and then consciously transformed into spiritually mature responses. From there, the journey continues toward living from one’s true divine nature.
How This Book Truly Began
Now, I would like to return to how this book truly began. As mentioned earlier, its beginning was sudden and unexpected.
A few days before Ganesh Chaturthi, a grand festival celebrated in parts of India, I felt the presence and blessing of Ganesha. Before continuing, I want to clarify something important. Deities are symbolic representations of specific energies, each with distinct functions. Tuning into a deity is essentially tuning into a particular energetic frequency, using form as a tangible focal point for the mind.
Feeling this blessing, I decided to tune into that consciousness through a simple mantra, purely as an expression of gratitude. Until then, I had never tuned into this form. As a Kriya Yogi, my practice is primarily formless, involving direct attunement to divine consciousness in its energetic aspects. I did not analyze this decision or give it much thought. I simply continued this attunement for the ten days of the festival.
At the time, I had no idea that this blessing would manifest as a book.
Among its many aspects, the energy or consciousness represented by Ganesha is associated with beginnings and with writing or communication, as it corresponds to the planet Mercury, the planet governing communication. This period lasted from 27th August 2025 to 6th September 2025. After that, I largely forgot about it, though I did wonder briefly why this energy had appeared. I did not dwell on it further.
The Moment the Writing Began
On 14th September, during a class, I mentioned that I wanted to write a book to bring together everything I was teaching in one place, because existing books did not fully address it. I also shared that, for some reason, I had not been able to do it. My students, Amol, suggested that I take audio notes whenever thoughts arose, without worrying about structure. Later, we could organize them together. After some discussion along similar lines, he left.
Later that night, I realized I did not resonate with audio notes. However, I felt comfortable writing longhand on my mobile or tablet throughout the day, simply noting points as they came. I had no idea what was about to unfold.
The next morning began as usual. I completed my meditation, had breakfast, and was considering my plans for the day. At that moment, a strong flow of thoughts arose. I sat down and began writing longhand. This continued day and night for three days. By the end of those three days, I had a complete outline of the book.
Over the next three days, I organized and structured that outline. In the following couple of weeks, the book almost wrote itself. After that came multiple rounds of review. On 22nd October, my birthday, the first draft was complete.
Writing Through Elevated Consciousness
The way this book manifested was entirely new to me. This led me to reflect on my experience of writing it at the level of energy and consciousness. The best way to explain this is through the example of how Lahiri Mahasaya guided his students.
Lahiri Mahasaya, and later Swami Sri Yukteswar, discouraged their students from reading commentaries on the Bhagavad Gita written by others. Instead, they encouraged students to arrive at understanding through their own inner perception. Lahiri Mahasaya would instruct students to read the verses repeatedly and would tell them that he would guide their thoughts.
What this meant was not that he entered their minds or imposed interpretations. Rather, he raised their level of consciousness to a point where understanding arose naturally from within. Once the consciousness was elevated, the student could access meaning directly through focused awareness and intuition.
On Channeling and True Spiritual Guidance
Channeling, or allowing another being to take over one’s mind, override one’s will, or dissolve one’s identity, was discouraged by all the Gurus of this lineage. Paramhansa Yogananda explicitly stated that after leaving his body, he would never communicate through channeling. Anyone claiming otherwise is making a false claim. Such messages may originate from other entities or may be entirely fabricated. One must be extremely cautious with channeled messages, regardless of how appealing they may sound.
True divine beings do not channel. They elevate consciousness. In that elevated state, the individual remains fully aware, fully present, and entirely themselves. There is no takeover.
My Lived Experience of This Process
My experience followed this same principle. From the beginning of that period on 27th August, I felt my consciousness gradually being lifted. Questions that had lingered for years began resolving themselves. My clarity increased across many areas of life. I reached the level of consciousness required to write this book around 15th September 2025, which is why the writing emerged as a natural flow.
Throughout the entire process, I remained completely myself, fully aware, and in charge of my faculties. I perceived clearly, acted deliberately, and used my own intelligence and intuition to write this book.
Holding the State and Continuing the Path
By the end of this journey, my consciousness had been elevated. Now, maintaining this state depends entirely on my continued effort. Through sustained sadhana, I must hold and stabilize this new level. One can never rest on past attainment. The effort must continue. Growth must continue.
As Paramhansa Yogananda said, spiritual growth is infinite, until one becomes Infinite…
